Man charged as Strike Force Imbara investigations continue

A man will appear in court tomorrow after being charged following investigations into an alleged brawl at a Western Sydney hotel.

Strike Force Imbara was established in July, formed by officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region and North West Metropolitan Region, to investigate anti-social and violent behaviour of local street-level criminal networks.

On Wednesday 10 July 2019, two groups of men were allegedly involved in a violent confrontation outside a licenced venue on Mount Druitt Road, Mount Druitt. It is alleged many of those involved were armed with weapons.

Police commenced inquiries and identified a 25-year-old man that was allegedly present during the incident.

About 11am (Wednesday 28 August 2019), officers attached to Strike Force Imbara attended a correctional facility in Silverwater and placed the man under arrest.

He was charged with one count of riot and refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 29 August 2019).
