Man charged following break and enter in Doonside

A man will face court today following an incident in Sydney’s west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 4am today police responded to reports of a break and enter at a business on Hill End Road, Doonside.

Upon arrival police located a 39-year-old man in the store, armed with a crowbar. The man allegedly ran from police and a short foot pursuit ensued before he was arrested.

The man received medical treatment for minor injuries he sustained during the arrest, before being taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with:

- Armed with intent to commit indictable offence,

- Enter building with intent to commit indictable offence and

- Resist police officer in the execution of duty.

The man was bail refused to appear in Blacktown Local Court today
