Man charged following fatal Longwarry crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a crash that claimed the life of a teenage girl in Longwarry earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a car was travelling along Evans Road on 21 February when it veered off the road and struck a tree.

The 15-year-old Garfield girl, who was a passenger, was taken to hospital, where she later died.

An 18-year-old Longwarry man was today charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 27 July.
