Man charged following investigation into aggravated break and enter and frauds in Campsie

A man has been charged following an ongoing investigation into an alleged aggravated break and enter at Campsie and numerous frauds across Sydney, NSW Police say.

About 11.30pm on Saturday 2 July 2016, two men allegedly forced entry to a unit on Eighth Avenue, Campsie and stole a number of items.

Police will allege the occupants – a 51-year-old man and an eight-year-old boy – were home and the time.

Strike Force Jason was established by detectives from Campsie Local Area Command to investigate the incident.

Following ongoing inquiries, about 9.30pm today, officers from the South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad forced entry to a unit on Seventh Avenue, Campsie and executed a search warrant.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Campsie Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, take/detain in company with intent to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm and fraud (x50).

The man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow.
