Man charged following investigations into stabbing in Richmond

Police have charged a man following investigations into an assault that’s left a man with a serious leg wound in hospital at the weekend, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a unit block on Windsor Street, Richmond, about 8pm on Sunday yesterday following reports of a stabbing.

A crime scene was established and while detectives conducted their inquiries a second call came through regarding a man who was found suffering a stab wound to his leg at a shopping centre on Lennox Street, Richmond.

The 26-year-old man was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment to a laceration to his leg and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Detectives from Hawkesbury Local Area Command commenced an investigation and about 2.30pm today detectives attended a unit complex on Windsor Street where they arrested a 24-year-old man. The man was taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding.

He was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today tomorrow
