Man charged following Lilydale motorbike crash

A man has been charged following an alleged incident in Lilydale yesterday morning (15 February), Victoria Police say.

It is alleged the man was riding a stolen Yamaha R6 motorbike on Andersons Street before colliding into the back of Mitsubishi Lancer about 10.20am.

He was thrown from the bike as a result and sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a 69-year-old woman, did not sustain injuries but was taken to hospital for observation.

Police later arrested a 43-year-old Lilydale man, who has since been charged with two counts of theft and various traffic-related offences, including unlicensed driving.

He is due to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 13 September.
