Man charged following Mitcham collision

Nunawading Highway Patrol members have charged a man following a three-car collision in Mitcham on Sunday (21 October), Victoria Police say.

It is alleged a blue Nissan Pulsar had been travelling on the wrong side of Mitcham Road when it struck a Toyota Echo and Toyota Prius about 4.45pm.

A female driver of the Echo was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while an occupant of the Prius sustained minor injuries.

The Pulsar driver was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and was today interviewed by police.

He has been charged with a number of offences, including theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering persons, disqualified driving and speeding.

The 20-year-old Surrey Hills man has been bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 25 March 2019.
