A man has been charged following a pursuit in Coffs Harbour at the weekend., NSW Police say
Just before 10.30pm on Saturday (1 December 2018), officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District saw a Holden Commodore on Ocean Parade and attempted to pull it over.
The Holden failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.
When the Holden stopped in Phillip Street, officers went to approach the vehicle; however, it reversed smashing into the front of the police vehicle. The Holden sped off.
Police pursued the vehicle on to the M1 and through a number of streets in the Coffs Harbour area.
When the vehicle stopped on the Pacific Highway at Urunga, the driver, a 32-year-old man was arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located and seized stolen property, ammunition and fraudulent number plates.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, possess property stolen outside NSW, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and possess housebreaking implements.
The man was refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today (Monday 3 December 2018).
