Man charged following road-rage stabbing last month in Glendenning

A man has been charged after another man was allegedly stabbed during a road-rage incident in Sydney’s west late last month, NSW Police say.

A 42-year-old man was driving his Toyota Hilux on Richmond Road at Glendenning, about 4.30pm on Friday 30 November 2018.

As he drove on to the southbound lanes of the M7 motorway, the driver of a Toyota Corolla allegedly threw something at his vehicle.

The vehicles came to a stop on the M7, between Richmond and Power streets, where the drivers confronted each other.

The driver of the Corolla allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the 42-year-old man, before returning to his vehicle and driving off.

The injured man returned to his vehicle and attempted to drive to Blacktown Hospital, before his passenger contacted Triple Zero and they stopped on Bungarribee Road at Doonside to receive medical treatment.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for a stab wound to his abdomen, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

He has since been released from hospital.

Mt Druitt Police Area Command officers commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, a 42-year-old man attended Riverstone Police Station about 10.30am today (Monday 10 December 2018).

He was arrested and charged with knowingly drive vehicle in manner menaces other, intentionally throw object at vehicle risking safety, and reckless wounding.
