Man charged following serious domestic assault in Bomaderry

A man will appear in court today after he was charged with a number of domestic-related offences at Bombaderry on the state’s south coast, NSW Police say.

About 2am today, police attended a unit on the Princes Highway after receiving information that a domestic dispute was occurring.

Police spoke to a 30-year-old woman at the scene who had visible facial injuries. It was also established the woman was allegedly held against her will.

The woman was treated at the scene and taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital and treated for possible fractured wrists, fractured nose and cheek and other facial injuries.

A 51-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Nowra Police Station. He has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm, and kidnap with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court today.
