Man charged following theft of Ralph the lamb

Police have charged a man following the alleged theft of a baby lamb from a Moorooduc animal park earlier this month., Victoria Police say

Detectives have been told a man entered the Mornington Tyabb Road animal park, The Big Goose, on Sunday 21 August between 1-3am.

It is believed the man broke into one of the sheds on the property and made off with Ralph, and nothing else.

Ralph, who was recently named following a competition run by the park, is only four weeks old and must be fed by a bottle to survive.

A 21-year-old man from Moorooduc was arrested yesterday afternoon and has been charged with theft, handle stolen goods and animal cruelty.

He will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on November 4.

A 25-year-old woman from Cranbourne and 21-year-old man from Tyabb were also arrested and have been released pending further enquiries.

Detectives were told Ralph had been left in a paddock on the Morning Tyabb Road, near the intersection of Coolart Road, Moorooduc.

When police attended the property yesterday they were unable to locate the baby lamb.

He has very distinctive markings with a black face and ears and round black spot on his right cloven hoof.

Police have released pictures of Ralph in the hope someone may recognise him and have information on his current whereabouts.
