Police have charged a man following a collision on the states mid north coast last month, NSW Police say.
Just after 1.30am on Thursday 3 March 2016, emergency services were called to a section of the Pacific Highway, near Clybucca, following a head-on collision between a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Toyota Hiace campervan.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the driver of the car, a 74-year-old man, at the scene before he was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital with serious injuries.
The two men travelling in the campervan, both aged 18, were also injured. Both men were treated at the scene and conveyed to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
One man suffered arm and leg injuries. The other man was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he underwent surgery on his back.
The two men, both German Nationals have since left the country and are undergoing further treatment.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended and with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Following investigations, police have charged a 74-year-old man with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
He will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 27 June 2016.
