Mildura Crime Investigation Unit detectives have assisted NSW police during a warrant in Mildura today, Victoria Police say.
The 54-year-old man was arrested in relation to an investigation into an alleged assault in New South Wales on 12 July.
Detectives located a firearm inside the property along with a quantity of drugs.
Victoria Police charged the man with numerous offences including possess cannabis, possess ammunition without permit and weapon possession.
The man was then bailed and extradited to NSW where he was charged there with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and use offensive weapon in company.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Broken Hill Local Court tomorrow.
