Man Charged for Courthouse Damage in Gosford

A man will face court after a courthouse was allegedly vandalised in the state's Central Coast yesterday.

About 7.40am yesterday (Thursday 12 February 2026), police were called to a courthouse on Donnison Street, Gosford, following reports of a malicious damage.

On arrival, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District located the front door of the building was damaged and liquid - believed to be an accelerant - was poured at the window.

Police were told a man had been depicted on CCTV at about 2.50am on the same day, allegedly throwing a paver through the courthouse door before pouring liquid.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 3.30pm on the same day, police arrested a 44-year-old man at a hotel on The Boulevarde, Woy Woy.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with damage property by fire/explosive, destroy or damage property, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 today (Friday 13 February 2026).
