Man Charged for Eastlands Theft on Nov 24: Tasmania Police

A 28-year-old man from the Rosny area has been charged with 'stealing with force' in relation to an incident at an Eastlands Shopping Centre store last Friday.

Police will allege the man attended the loading bay of a business around 11.40am and attempted to steal items. The man become involved in a physical confrontation with staff, before running from the area. No staff were physically injured during the incident.

As a result of public information received, the man was identified and subsequently arrested yesterday.

The man has been charged with one count of 'stealing with force' and another unrelated stealing matter. He has been bailed to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police will continue to regularly patrol public areas to detect and deter anti-social and illegal behaviours.
