Wollongong Police have charged a man after he allegedly graffitied a bridge during a protest near Clifton earlier this month.
On Sunday (7 December 2025), officers attached to Wollongong Police District – with assistance from Traffic and Highway Patrol, Public Order and Riot Squad, Polair, and Dog Unit officers – managed an authorised protest between Coalcliff and Clifton along the Seacliff Bridge.
Following the protest, police were alerted to reports that the bridge had been graffitied during the event.
Police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident, including a public appeal for information, and following inquiries arrested a 22-year-old man at Wollongong Police Station, about 7.20pm today (Wednesday 10 December 2025).
He was charged with intentionally mark premises without consent.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 27 January 2026.
Police also issued an infringement notice today to a 31-year-old woman for alleged offensive conduct during the protest.
