A man is due in court charged after allegedly making threatening calls to Triple Zero (000) overnight.
An investigation commenced after three calls were received by Triple Zero (000) operators between about 5.45pm and 6.10pm yesterday (Saturday 24 January 2026).
Police will allege the caller made specific threats to kill or harm a particular section of the community.
Inquiries traced the calls to public phones on George Street, Sydney.
Within 10 minutes of the final call, officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command arrested a 55-year-old man on Sussex Street.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with four offences, three counts of make vexatious call to emergency service number, and one count of use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.
The man, from Rosebery, has been bail refused to appear via AVL in Bail Division Court 7 later today (Sunday 25 January 2026).
