A man has been charged for allegedly transporting a commercial quantity of drugs on the state's mid-north coast.
About 11.20am yesterday (Thursday 11 December 2025), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling the Pacific Highway, Nabiac, when they detected a white station wagon allegedly speeding.
Police stopped the vehicle and conducted a roadside drug and breath test on the driver – a 44-year-old man – who allegedly returned a positive result for methylamphetamine.
Following inquiries, police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly found 15kg of methylamphetamine, 3.5kg of heroin and a Dedicated Encrypted Criminal Communication Device (DECCD) inside a hidden compartment.
The man was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug large commercial quantity.
The 44-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 1 today (Friday 12 December 2025) where he was further refused bail, to reappear at Forster Local Court Wednesday 25 February 2026.
