Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man for an alleged breach of his extended supervision order.
On Sunday 2 November 2025, officers attached to State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad were notified a man subject to a Supreme Court Extended Supervision Order had cut off his electronic monitoring equipment following an unannounced visit to his home from Corrective Services Officers.
Detectives from Sex Crimes Squad's Extended Supervision Order Team commenced immediate inquiries to locate him.
At about 2.45pm on Monday 3 November 2025, police arrested the 63-year-old in the foyer of a hotel in Bass Hill.
During a search of the man, police located a loaded sawn-off shotgun, 12 rounds of ammunition, and over $1,000 in cash.
The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with fail to comply with extended/interim supervision order, possess shortened firearm, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition, and damage property.
He was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Tuesday 4 November 2025).
