Man Charged: Gel Blasters, Ammo Seized at Lake Illawarra

A man will face court today charged after gel blasters and ammunition were allegedly seized from a home in the Illawarra.

About 7.40am yesterday (Tuesday 24 February 2026), officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District served a Firearms Prohibition Order on a 28-year-old man at a home in Robins Creek Drive, Horsley.

During the search warrant, police allegedly seized 100 rounds of ammunition, three glock style gel blasters and cannabis.

The man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with six offences - three counts of possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safety - not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 today (Wednesday 25 February 2026).
