A man will face court today charged after a pistol, drugs and cash were seized during a vehicle stop in Sydney's north-west overnight.
Police were called to Eastern Road, Rooty Hill, about 8pm yesterday (Saturday 10 January 2025), following reports a man had threatened another man with a gun.
Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command stopped a sedan on Eastern Road and spoke with the 37-year-old man driving.
When the vehicle was search, police allegedly located a pistol, $650 cash, cocaine, methylamphetamine, GHB, scales and a pair of knuckledusters.
The driver was subjected to a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for cocaine and methylaphetamine.
The man was arrested and taken to Mount Druit Station where a secondary analysis was conducted.
He has been charged with seven offences,
- Possess unauthorised pistol
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
- Supply prohibited drug
- Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
- Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and
- Unlicensed driver.
The man, from Bradbury, has been refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today (Sunday 11 January 2025).
Further charges are pending the outcome of the secondary drug analysis.
