A man will face court next month after two people died in a crash in the State's north late last year.
About 2.15am on Sunday 14 December 2025, emergency services were called to Pacific Highway, near Wadalba, following reports a sedan and a hatchback had collided.
The driver of the hatchback– a 45-year-old woman – and the passenger – a 38-year-old woman – both died at the scene.
The driver of sedan – a 49-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for arm and leg injuries before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and specialist officers from Crash Investigation Unit were called to commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Both vehicles were seized to be forensically examined.
Following inquiries, today (Friday 6 March 2026) the 49-year-old man was charged with:
- Two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous
- Two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death-drive speed dangerous-
- Two counts of negligent driving (occasioning death)
- Two counts of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death - speed more than 45 over limit
- Not keep left of dividing line-not class B/C vehicle, and
- Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).
The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Wyong Local Cort on Wednesday 22 April 2026 and his license was suspended.
