Man charged in connection to $1million ICE seizure at Hobart Airport in August 2018, TAS

Police have charged a 35-year-old Lewisham man in connection to the 1kg of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) located in a man’s underpants at Hobart Airport last August, Tasmania Police say.

As part of the ongoing police investigation, members of Southern Drug Investigation Service arrested the man this morning.

He was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. He remains in custody and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

On 24 August 2018, a 31-year-old Gagebrook man was arrested at Hobart Airport with 1kg of ICE in his underpants while disembarking a flight direct from Sydney. The drugs had a street value of approximately $1,000,000.
