Man Charged in Doonside Child Abuse Material Case

A man will face court after being charged over online child abuse material.

In June 2025, detectives from Blacktown Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged child abuse material offence in the area.

Inquiries alleged the material was disseminated through an online chatting app in Doonside area.

Following inquiries, with the assistance from Australian Federal Police, about 6.45am today (Wednesday 5 November 2025), police arrested a 22-year-old man at a home on Guerin Street, Doonside.

Police seized two mobile phone devices to be forensically examined.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with use carriage etc to access child abuse material (two counts) and use carriage service make available child abuse (two counts).

He was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 6 November 2025).
