A man will face court today after an alleged break, enter and steal and police pursuit in the state's Orana region this week.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a residence on Wheelers Lane, Dubbo, about 12.20am Wednesday 3 June 2026, following reports of a break, enter and steal.
Police arrived and saw property had been damaged, with household items – including keys – reportedly stolen.
About 12.25pm the following day (Thursday 4 June 2026), police were called to a carpark on Brisbane Street, Dubbo, with reports a man had forced entry into a vehicle before allegedly stealing several power tools.
A man aged in his 70s reportedly confronted the alleged offender – a 35-year-old man – who police will allege armed himself with a metal rake and threatened to assault the older man, before driving off in an SUV.
Following inquiries, police located the SUV on Bultje Street, Dubbo, where it allegedly failed to stop despite police direction.
A pursuit was initiated, with the vehicle allegedly reaching speeds of up to 140km/hr in a signposted 100km/hr speed zone.
The pursuit continued to Brocklehurst – including through a commercial property – before the driver abandoned the vehicle on Burroway Street.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 35-year-old man nearby and took him to Dubbo Police Station, where he was charged with 10 offences,

The man was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 today (Friday 5 June 2026).
