Man Charged in Dubbo Stolen Car and Break-In Investigation

A man has been charged as an investigation continues into an alleged stolen car and multiple break and enters in the state's west earlier this year.

On Saturday 22 August 2026, officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District commenced an investigation following reports of break and enters across the Dubbo area.

Police were told about 2.30am that morning (Saturday 22 August 2026), a Mazda SUV was allegedly stolen from a business on Frith Street, Dubbo.

Between 4.45am and 5.15am, police will allege an unknown number of individuals forced entry into four businesses on Darling Street, Tamworth Street and Fitzroy Street in Dubbo, and stole several items including cash, a cash register, and a mobile phone.

The SUV was later found abandoned on the corner of Boundary Road and Diane A'Beckett Place, Dubbo.

Following extensive inquiries, about 11.30pm yesterday (Friday 2 October 2026), officers attended a home on Hammond Street, Dubbo, and arrested an 18-year-old man.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with 12 offences,

  • Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner (four counts)
  • Aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60,000 (four counts)
  • Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence (four counts)

The 18-year-old was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Saturday 3 October 2026).
