Man Charged in Newcastle Domestic Violence Case

A man will face court today charged following an alleged domestic violence incident near Newcastle.

On Sunday 29 June 2025, police were told a woman sustained injuries to her face and legs after allegedly being assaulted by a man known to her at a home in Wallsend.

Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District – assisted by the Hunter Domestic Violence High-Risk Offender Team and Hunter Utah – commenced inquiries into the whereabouts of the man.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 20-year-old man in the bathroom of a unit at Wallsend about 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 July 2025).

He was taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic).

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 3 July 2025).
