Man Charged in Parramatta Transit Assault

A man has been charged over an alleged assault on a train in Sydney's west earlier this month.

About 11:15pm on Friday 8 August 2025, emergency services responded to reports of an assault on a train between Parramatta and Auburn Railway Station.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command responded and were told an unknown man assaulted five men, aged in their twenties, during the journey. No significant injuries were reported.

Investigators from the Police Transport Command North West commenced an investigation including an appeal for public assistance.

Shortly after midday today (Friday 22 August 2025), a 28-year-old man attended Auburn Police Station where he was placed under arrest.

The Strathfield man was charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court next Thursday (28 August 2025).
