A man has been charged after an alleged break and enter and wounding in Sydney's north west.
About 1.45am yesterday (Sunday 11 January 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Market Street, Riverstone, following reports of a break and enter.
Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command attended and were told a 43-year-old man allegedly broke into the home armed with a crowbar, before repeatedly assaulting a 54-year-old man, and left the scene.
The men are known to each other.
The 54-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious facial and leg injuries, before he was taken to hospital for further treatment.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.
About 5.30pm that day, police arrested the 43-year-old man at a home on Piccadilly Street, Riverstone, before being taken to Riverstone Police Station.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, two counts of wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and attempt stalk/intimidate intend fear of harm (domestic).
The man was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Monday 12 January 2026).
