Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after it its alleged a knife was produced during an aggravated burglary in Strathtulloh on 24 November.
It is alleged the male offender entered the Basildon Crescent home just before 1pm.
The occupant of the house was woken by the offender who demanded cash whilst armed with a knife.
The victim was taken to the garage where he managed to flee the offender.
Investigators from Melton Crime Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a Strathtulloh address today and arrested a man.
The 38-year-old has been charged with aggravated burglary, armed robbery, false imprisonment and threats to kill.
He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 26 February.
