Man Charged Over 1984 Disappearance of Debra Campbell

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad have arrested a man in New South Wales as part of the investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Debra Campbell almost 40 years ago.

As a result of a joint operation conducted by the Victoria Police Missing Persons Squad and the NSW Police Homicide Squad Unsolved Homicide Unit, a 65-year-old Cardiff South man was arrested in Cardiff South today.

He was subsequently charged with murder and faced Belmont Local Court today.

The man will face court again on Friday in relation to an application to extradite him to Victoria.

Today's arrest follows a public appeal in April this year for information in relation to Debra's disappearance.

The 21-year-old went missing from her High Street, Windsor home on Saturday, 25 February 1984.
