Man charged over act of indecency, NSW

Police have arrested a man who allegedly committed an indecent act in front of two teenage girls in the state’s Lake Macquarie area on Monday, NSW Police say.

The two 14-year-old girls were walking along Main Road, Edgeworth, about 8.30pm (Monday 1 January 2018), when a man allegedly approached them before committing the indecent act.

The girls ran from the area and reported the incident to a family member, with a report then made to police.

Following inquiries by officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command, a 48-year-old man was arrested at his Edgeworth home today and taken to Toronto Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of committing an aggravated act of indecency and refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 4 January 2018).
