Man charged over alleged home invasion, NSW

A man wanted by police over an alleged home invasion in the Lake Illawarra region has been arrested and charged.

About 5pm on Wednesday 26 December 2018, three men forced entry to a home on Jarrah Way at Albion Park Rail.

The intruders threatened the occupants before assaulting a 28-year-old man.

Police were alerted and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home at Barrack Heights just after midday yesterday (Friday 11 January 2019), where they attempted to speak with a 28-year-old man.

The man allegedly ran from officers; however, was arrested nearby after a short foot pursuit.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit serious indictable offence.

The man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Bail Court today (Saturday 12 January 2019).

Inquiries into the alleged home invasion continue.
