Man charged over alleged indecent assault in Eastern Beaches LAC

A man will appear in court next month charged over the alleged indecent assault of a woman last year in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, NSW Police say.

During the evening of Saturday 22 August 2015, a then 24-year-old woman visited various licensed premises and eventually walked to a bus stop near ‘The Loop’ at La Perouse.

Police will allege the woman requested a lift from two security guards; however, they refused.

A short time later, one of the men allegedly returned and offered the woman a lift home, in his private vehicle.

Police will allege that during the trip the man indecently assaulted the woman and then dropped her at Maroubra Junction.

The woman made her own way home and police were alerted.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command launched an investigation and shortly before 8am today, attended a home in Hebersham.

Investigators arrested a 31-year-old man at the location and he was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

He was later charged with assault with act of indecency.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Thursday 9 June 2016.
