Man charged over armed robbery, Browns Plains

A man has been charged after allegedly robbing a Browns Plains service-station armed with a knife this morning, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged that the man entered the Browns Plains Road business around 7.45am, approached two female employees at the front counter and produced what appeared to be a knife, making demands for money.

The staff members complied with the demands and the man then allegedly ran from the store with a sum of cash, a carbonated energy drink and a lighter.

Police attended the scene and conducted patrols of the area, during which a man was located a short distance, at a park on Browns Plains Road, where he was arrested.

Further patrols located the alleged weapon discarded nearby.

A 24-year-old Loganlea man has now been charged with one count of armed-robbery.

He is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 15, 2018.
