Man charged over assault of neighbour in Mangerton

A man has been charged over an alleged assault in Wollongong yesterday, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Myuna Way at Mangerton about 6pm (Friday 30 November 2018), where they found a man with injuries to his face and body.

Police have been told the man was involved in an altercation with his neighbour before being struck in the head with a glass bottle.

The 52-year-old was treated by paramedics for cuts to his face and ears, along with injuries to his arms.

Officers from Wollongong Police District established a crime scene at the home and commenced an investigation.

A short time after the incident, a 50-year-old man was arrested on Crown Street and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to inflict actual bodily harm; stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.

The man has been refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Saturday 1 December 2018).
