Man charged over crash in Marrickville

A man has been arrested following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s inner west overnight, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 10.30pm (Wednesday 6 June 2018), police from the Inner West Police Area Command were called to Illawarra Road near Marrickville Road, Marrickville, following reports a Ford Falcon had crashed into a power pole.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was uninjured.

His passenger, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for minor injuries.

A roadside breath test returned a positive reading and the man was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station.

A subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.129.

The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence of mid-range drink driving.

His licence was suspended.

He is due to appear at Newtown Local Court on Thursday 21 June 2018.
