Man charged over deprivation of liberty incident Southport

A man has been charged over an incident yesterday where a 26-year-old Loganholme man was allegedly assaulted and held against his will at a business at Southport, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.30am emergency services were called to a George Street unit after a man sought refuge there suffering non-life threatening injuries.

It is alleged the man had been assaulted in a nearby business premises.

A 24-year-old Parkwood man has been charged with deprivation of liberty, torture, armed robbery and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police investigations are continuing.
