Man Charged Over Domestic Stabbing Incident in Alexandria

A man will face court tomorrow charged after a woman was allegedly stabbed in a domestic related incident in Sydney's south.

About 12.30pm on Wednesday (8 May 2024), emergency services were called to O'Riordan Street, Alexandria, following reports a woman had been injured.

On arrival, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command found a 39-year-old woman suffering stab wounds.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.

About 7.50am today (Thursday 9 May 2024) a 45-year-old man – known to the woman - was arrested after presenting to Dee Why Police Station.

He was taken to Manly Police Station where an arrest warrant was executed, and he was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (DV) and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).

The North Manly man has been refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court tomorrow (Friday 10 May 2024).
