Man charged over home invasion in Belfield

A man has been charged overnight over an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Police will allege the 18-year-old man forced his way into a home in Scott Street, Belfield, and assaulted a 49-year-old man about 7pm on Thursday 17 August 2017.

Police attached to Campsie Police Area Command launched an investigation.

About 10.15pm today, officers attended a property on Canterbury Road, Lakemba, where they arrested the man.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent and refused bail.

The man is due to appear before Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
