Man charged over indecent assault of children, Upper Coomera

Police have charged a 76-year-old man over the indecent assault of two boys at an Upper Coomera caravan park this year, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged the man indecently assaulted an eight-year-old and 11-year-old boy, who were holidaying on the Gold Coast, between June 30 and August 9.

Following an extensive investigation by detectives from the Gold Coast’s Child Protection and Investigation a man was arrested on Wednesday night.

A 76-year-old Upper Coomera man has now been charged with five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12 years and two counts of grooming a child under 12 years.

Subsequent to this investigation, the man has also been charged with one count of wilful exposure of a person with an impairment, after allegedly exposing himself to a man in August.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on November 6.
