Man charged over robberies in Fairfield

A man has been charged following three robberies in Sydney’s west last week, NSW Police say.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command launched an investigation following the armed robberies of businesses at Toongabbie, Pendle Hill and Wentworthville between Sunday 19 August and Thursday 23 August 2018.

Following inquiries, police stopped a Honda Accord on The Crescent at Fairfield yesterday (Tuesday 28 August 2018), and arrested the driver, a 27-year-old man.

During a search of the car, officers seized clothing and knives.

The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with robbery in company, two counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon (Accessory after the fact) and two counts of impersonate police officer.

Police will allege in court, the man produced documentation, impersonating police.

He appeared at Fairfield Local Court today and was refused bail to appear at the same court on Monday 5 November 2018.

Inquiries are continuing.
