Man charged over serious DV & robbery offences in Villawood

A man will appear in Bankstown Court today after being charged with serious domestic violence and robbery offences overnight, NSW Police say.

Between 10pm on Thursday 15 November and the evening of Friday 16 November 2018 a 55-year-old woman was seriously assaulted during a prolonged domestic violence incident.

During Sunday 18 November 2018, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command investigating the earlier incident, attended a unit in Woodville Road at Villawood.

Police will allege that they entered the premises and located a 30-year-old man hiding behind a fridge.

The man was arrested and conveyed to Bankstown Police Station.

He was later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, intimidation (x 2) and breach of bail.

He was also charged with 13 other offences including detain, choking, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and robbery.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 20 November 2018).
