Detectives from the Homicide Squad have charged a man in relation to the death of a woman in Heidelberg West in January.
The 28-year-old Heidelberg West man has been charged with one count of murder.
The matter will be heard at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today, however the man remains in hospital under police guard.
The charge follows an incident at a property on Liberty Parade, Heidelberg West on 28 January where a 61-year-old woman died.
