Man Charged: Road Rage, Police Assault in Macquarie Park

A man will face court charged after an alleged road rage incident and assaulting police in Sydney's north west yesterday.

Just before 8pm on Thursday (18 September 2025), a 27-year-old man was travelling towards the intersection of Herring and Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park, when he was allegedly approached by a 43-year-old man, unknown to him, on foot.

Police will allege the 43-year-old man forced entry into the vehicle, before assaulting the younger man and stealing his phone.

As the 27-year-old man exited his vehicle to retrieve his phone, he was again repeatedly assaulted by the other man.

A police officer attached to Ryde Police Area Command was waved down for assistance.

The officer attempted to speak to the 43-year-old man who allegedly refused to stop, before pushing and spitting at the officer.

The 43-year-old man was arrested following a successful taser was deployment and taken to Gladesville Police Station.

He was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, common assault and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Friday 19 September 2025).

The 27-year-old man was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

The officer was uninjured.
