Man charged - Sydney Olympic Park, NSW

A man will appear in court today after he was detained by police at Sydney Olympic Park overnight, NSW Police say.

Police from Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, who were performing duties at the precinct, spoke to a man about 6pm today.

The 33-year-old man was carrying a backpack containing several items which were seized by police.

The man was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station.

He has been charged with possess knife in public place, possess offensive implement, and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

The man, from Auburn, was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow.
