At Dakabin this morning two police officers struggled with the driver of a car who was allegedly pointing a loaded firearm towards them, eventually restraining the man, Queensland Police say.
Detectives tonight charged a 26-year-old Bray Park man with 30 weapons, property and driving offences, including dangerous conduct with a weapon.
Around 10.15am police were at a semi-rural property on Thompson Road, Dakabin when they observed a man enter an alleged stolen vehicle.
Upon seeing the police the man drove away from the property and into adjoining paddocks.
Officers parked their police vehicle across a boundary gate where it will be alleged the man drove his vehicle at speed, crashing through the gate and into the police vehicle.
It will be further alleged that in the ensuing moments the man pointed loaded firearms at officers before police managed to pull the man from the vehicle and handcuff him.
During a search of the vehicle police will allege they located two loaded firearms.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The 26-year-old Bray Park man has been denied police bail and remanded in custody.
He is due to appear in the Petrie Magistrates Court tomorrow morning charged with dangerous conduct with a weapon (category A), unlawful possession of a weapon (category C), possession of explosives (ammunition) without authority and failing to stop a motor vehicle. As well as six counts each of burglary and commit an indictable offence and enter premises and commit an indictable offence, five counts of fraud, four of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three of stealing and two of dangerous driving of a motor vehicle.
Many of these offences allegedly occurred over the past couple of months.
