Man Charged With 40+ Offences at Lake Illawarra

A man has been charged with more than 40 offences related to the alleged theft of vehicles and break and enter offence in the Illawarra.

About 6.50am yesterday (Wednesday 25 February 2026), officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Anthony Street, Warilla.

During the search, police seized a large number of items, including two dozen sets of house and car keys, stolen driver's licences and passport, and house breaking implements.

Officers also seized three electronic devices, which police will allege are used to replicate door keys to enable entry to locked vehicles.

Following the search, police arrested a 33-year-old man at the scene.

During his arrest police allegedly located and seized a knife with a knuckle duster attachment and a flick knife from the man.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with 44 offences, including 31 counts of goods in personal custody, steal motor vehicle, four counts of armed with intent to commit indictable offence and four counts of carry cutting weapon upon apprehension.

The man was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 today (Thursday 26 February 2026).
