Man charged with aggravated break and enter in East Albury

A man will appear in court today charged over a break and enter at East Albury where a man’s finger was almost severed, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 1am on Monday (10 July 2017), a man was at his home in Keene Street, when three men, allegedly armed with a rifle, machete and baseball bat, broke in.

The armed men allegedly assaulted him, resulting in a number of injuries, including his left pinky finger being almost severed.

The men then left the home and police from Albury Local Area Command were notified.

As a result of inquiries, today, detectives seized a car that is currently undergoing forensic examination.

Within the vehicle was a firearm, alleged to have been used during the break-in.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with break and enter in circumstances of special aggravation. He is due to appear before Albury Local Court tomorrow.

Investigations continue.
