Man charged with committing act of indecency on train, NSW

A man has been charged with allegedly committing an act of indecency on a train in Sydney’s west earlier this month, NSW Police say.

About 8.15am on Monday 7 November 2016, a man sat down near a 19-year-old woman who was seated on a train travelling between Blacktown and Quakers Hill Railway Stations.

While sitting near the woman and staring at her, the man allegedly exposed himself and committed an act of indecency.

A short time later the woman got off the train at Quakers Hill Railway Station and alerted staff of the incident, who in turn contacted police and an investigation commenced.

About 8.50am today, officers from Police Transport Command attended a home on Castlereagh Street, Penrith, where they arrested a 37-year-old man.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with commit act of indecency and wilful and obscene exposure.

The man was refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court today.
